Mixed-media Illustrations with elements of collage, called Groteske (Grotesques). In the Grotesques I create my own vivid worlds out of the chosen fragments of reality. Firstly I view this as an attack on the surrounding rationalism and its all-invasive logic. Secondly: the grotesque both disturbs and impresses us: it makes us suspect that another world might be hiding out there and that the ‘present’ we live in – is just one of many possible. Naturally I like to use the technique of collage in my illustrations precisely because its close connection to the definition of the grotesque – characteristically, it glues together elements of worlds apart and thus successfully demolishes the established boundaries of the Norm.
